A foundation has raised a total of $2.57 Million after it conducted fundraising activity to finance some school projects.

Officials of Palo Alto partners In Education said the money raised was handed down immediately to the Palo Alto Unified District in a form of check on Tuesday. The group reported eagerness during the fundraising campaign but fell short of at least $600 three weeks before a deadline was set.

Lois Garland, board president of Partners in Education said the parent-run organization still managed to set the goal as they were also motivated for the school project for the benefit of their students, the parents and the school as well. The shortfall has even inspired parents to campaign for more help from generous people.

The people behind Partners in Education also called on their donors on the phone to take advantage of the fundraising campaign challenge grant that a group of families is entitled to pledge and match donations to the tune of $55,000. Just like a nursing school, the programs are reachable given the proper management and timing.

Muneerah Merchant, the group’s executive director said there are now over 100 people that help in the campaign. It was also learned that the non-profit organization already raise over $9 million since 2005. This year its goal has been achieved with the help of many generous people in the county as well as from private firms. The money that was raised for this year will be funded for staffing of the programs and elementary schools will also get funding for their classroom aides projects, including arts and science.

Kevin Skelly, superintendent of the school said the programs included in the projects of the foundation include those that are hardest hit in budget cuts of the state. The project has been lauded by many people since it had accomplished a lot of things not only from raising money but on raising awareness that despite crisis unity of the people can still make things happen. It has been proven once again that in unity there is really strength and this is what people need in times of economic adversity.
