Improving your own computer skills
   IMPROVING YOUR OWN COMPUTER SKILLS

Very long ago someone said that tomorrow’s illiterate would be those who can’t use a computer. Well, tomorrow has arrived. We assume this is not your own case, or you wouldn’t be reading a website. But the evolution in software is so rapid that we all need to permanently learn more about new programs, updates of well know ones, etcetera. Also, some basic hardware knowledge (like configuring a small network or a server, or installing extra components to your computer) will be a plus in your daily activity.

These are some recommendations to keep at pace we developments and increase your own computer skills:

• Take some time to go through the tutorials of your most frequently used programs. You will discover many features you didn’t know existed. This will help you master your software and do things better and earlier than your colleagues.

• Take computer skills expansion courses. You may do that online or at your nearest school and it will only take a few hours.

• Take a course on a specific software application that can be a plus in your current job or in future job searching. For instance, having a general idea of web design can help many professionals, as they can also be in charge with supervising the company’s online presence and liaising with the company’s web design or web marketing provider.
