   CAREER BUILDER CHALLENGES

A career builder, during his or her working life, is confronted with many career challenges, including:

• Fine-tuning their skills to keep progressing in a particular job, or climbing inside a certain company, or changing companies for better within a given industry.

• Knowing which amount and kind of further training or study is career advisable in their particular case.

• Introducing newly learnt information and skills into their work, in a way that people having an influence on their careers will appreciate this and act accordingly.

• Identifying the main trends and changes in their industry and adapting themselves to the new circumstances (earlier than any potential competitor for their job or promotion).

• Having a special sensibility to detect when the time has come for a major career decision, and taking it.

• Adapting their career builder goals to their personal life: family, friends, hobbies...

• Being perceived as reasonably ambitious, not as ruthless climbers able to harm anyone along the way. A human touch is certainly a most important career building skill.

• Combining their own careers with those of their own team (the one they lead or belong to) in order to have everyone benefit from the common effort.
